KHALI - SUNSET SESSION

pitbull

I could not be more excited to share this wonderful session with you! Meet Khali. (Look at that squishy face! Don’t you just want to give her a big smooch right in the middle of her forehead!?) I will get this out of the way… Khali is a Pitbull. This breed has been all over the news lately. This post is not to continue the debate over this subject (you already know my position... I LOVE them!!!). The photos will speak for themselves.

We had decided to meet in a Montreal park, by the river close to sunset. As I spot Erika and Khali on their way I can’t help but smile at the sight of a happy go lucky pup. She is wagging her tail (and her but), head high, soaking in the sights and smells. I know this is going to be a wonderful portrait session!

Khali’s fur is bright red, unlike anything I’ve seen before. My first reaction is WOW! she is drop dead gorgeous! I am in love! And those eyes! Bright and filled with sweetness. She greats me politely and of course catches a wiff of the treats I have in my pockets. I know I’ve made a friend. (although my treats hardly compare to the homemade ones Erika has on her!)

During the portrait session, everyone we cross paths with in the park asks to pet her or comments on her gorgeous coat and eyes.

From Erika:

“I would like to present to you my love whose name is Khali. I found Khali when she was only 3 months old, abandoned in a parking lot, in the middle of winter. For me she is a true gift. It is because of Khali that I decided to become a Zootherapist, as she helped me realize all the happiness and wellbeing that an animal can provided to the people around them. She is now not only a member of my family but an incredible work partner. Together we also are spreading Pitbull awareness to undo some of the stigmas people have towards Pitbulls.”

Khali is only 2 years old but has a very tender soul. She works very hard at giving unconditional love and companionship to people in need. She is a ray of sunshine!!

I feel honoured to have been able to capture these wonderful memories for them. The bond they share is very obvious.

What an amazing adoption story! Rescue is my favorite breed!!

Fun fact: Khali could not care less about squirrels! There were many in the park but she just ignored them!
